Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections and regulatory enforcement activities
- Analyze environmental data using GIS mapping and statistical modeling tools
- Develop pollution prevention plans for industrial and municipal facilities
- Coordinate with local governments on environmental policy implementation
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory recommendations
- Train businesses on environmental compliance best practices
- Represent the agency at community outreach events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of environmental compliance/regulatory experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Proficiency with environmental data analysis software (e.g., ArcGIS, R)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations (CAA, CWA, RCRA)
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
