Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for coastal development projects in Biscayne Bay
- Enforce state environmental regulations through permit reviews and compliance inspections
- Develop and implement watershed management plans for urban runoff mitigation
- Led community outreach initiatives on sea-level rise adaptation strategies
- Collaborate with local government agencies on climate resilience planning
- Analyze water quality data and prepare technical reports for regulatory action
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate interdepartmental environmental projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of environmental regulatory experience in government or consulting
- Professional certification (e.g., QEP, CHMM) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software and environmental data analysis tools
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA/Florida Environmental Acts compliance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Fluency in English/Spanish highly desirable
