Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental protection plans for coastal and wetland ecosystems
- Conduct field inspections and compliance audits for industrial and commercial facilities
- Analyze environmental impact assessments and recommend regulatory actions
- Collaborate with local governments on sustainability initiatives and green infrastructure projects
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for senior leadership
- Represent DEP at community outreach events and stakeholder meetings
- Lead cross-functional teams on emergency response for environmental incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental regulation or conservation
- Professional certification (e.g., QEP, CHMM) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced knowledge of Florida environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Proficiency in GIS software and environmental data analysis tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
