Job Overview
As a Senior Federal Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of federal IT systems. You will work closely with government clients to ensure operational excellence and data security.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure federal network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with federal standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for mission-critical applications and hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement ITIL-based service management processes.
- Manage and document system configurations, ensuring full audit trail compliance.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential outages or security threats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Active Top Secret (TS) or Secret Security Clearance (required for federal roles).
- 5+ years of experience in federal IT environments or with government contractors.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server, Linux, and Active Directory.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, including CISSP or Security+ certification preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
