Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced GIS applications and interactive maps using ArcGIS Pro and Python.
- Perform complex spatial analysis and data modeling to support land use planning and zoning decisions.
- Integrate GIS data with other enterprise systems to enhance county-wide data management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to visualize data and present findings to elected officials and the public.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct technical training on GIS best practices and software tools.
- Ensure all data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with state and federal standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, software development, or cartography.
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS (Desktop and Server) and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of SQL, databases, and web mapping technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Online).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into clear, non-technical concepts.
