Responsibilities
- Lead Spatial Analysis: Design, develop, and maintain complex geodatabases and web mapping applications using ArcGIS and SQL Server.
- Project Management: Oversee GIS projects from conception through deployment, ensuring alignment with county strategic goals and budget constraints.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and security of spatial data assets through rigorous quality assurance protocols.
- Public Outreach: Create intuitive, user-friendly maps and visualizations for public use, community meetings, and executive briefings.
- System Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize GIS server infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Innovation: Research and implement emerging geospatial technologies to modernize county operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, cartography, or database management.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and FME (Feature Manipulation Engine).
- Programming: Strong scripting skills in Python, SQL, or JavaScript is highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate technical data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Licensure: Active GISP (GIS Professional) certification is a plus.
