Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex geospatial databases and data models to support transportation planning and asset management.
- Create and maintain interactive web mapping applications and custom GIS tools using JavaScript, Python, and the ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
- Perform advanced spatial analysis and geoprocessing tasks to identify trends and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and maintenance staff to integrate GIS data into broader enterprise systems.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to junior analysts and GIS staff.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal standards.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports detailing methodologies and findings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in GIS analysis, database management, and web mapping development.
- Expert proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap/ArcPro) and ArcGIS Server/Online.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
- Experience with spatial SQL queries and database management (PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
