Job Overview: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Government Analyst to join the City of Atlanta’s Department of Planning & Development. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research and statistical analysis to support municipal policy development and budget allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend data-driven solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefing memos, and presentations for the City Council and executive leadership.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing government programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Manage and analyze public records requests, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal standards.
- Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) for city departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government operations, policy analysis, or a related public sector role.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local government structure, procurement processes, and grant management is highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance (if required).
