The Role:
As a Senior Analyst, you will serve as a key strategic partner to leadership, translating complex datasets into actionable insights. You will manage high-level projects focused on operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and statistical analysis to identify trends, assess program performance, and recommend evidence-based policy changes.
- Project Management: Lead cross-departmental initiatives from conception to implementation, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budgetary constraints.
- Data Visualization: Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using PowerBI or Tableau to communicate findings to stakeholders clearly.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops and meetings with city departments, community leaders, and residents to gather feedback and align on strategic goals.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all operations adhere to federal, state, and local regulations and prepare comprehensive annual reports for the Mayor and City Council.
- Process Improvement: Audit existing government workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a government, public sector, or non-profit analytical role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar BI tools.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on creative solutions.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory background check.
