Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private foundation grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop compelling grant proposals and applications with compelling narratives and measurable outcomes
- Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funder guidelines
- Cultivate relationships with program officers and key stakeholders in the philanthropic community
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations for grant acquisition
- Maintain accurate grant databases and reporting systems
- Mentor junior staff on best practices in grant development and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, English, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of professional grant writing experience with proven track record of securing $500K+ annually
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with portfolio demonstrating successful grant proposals
- Strong knowledge of federal grant processes (CFDA, SAM.gov) and Louisiana-specific funding landscape
- Experience with nonprofit accounting and budget development for grant proposals
- Proficiency in grant management software (e.g., GrantStation, Salesforce NPSP)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
