Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and pursue relevant grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, budgets, and reports aligned with funders' priorities and organizational goals
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including program staff and foundation representatives
- Manage grant application processes including compliance, reporting, and impact documentation
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations for diversifying revenue streams
- Maintain accurate records of grant activities and outcomes in CRM systems
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, English) required; Master's preferred
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with proven track record securing $1M+ annually
- Demonstrated success with federal, state, and foundation grant applications
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and program evaluation
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce/Blackbaud) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and grant compliance requirements
- Passion for social justice and mission-driven work in Orange County
