Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop persuasive grant proposals and reports demonstrating program impact and ROI
- Collaborate with program directors to gather compelling data and success metrics
- Manage grant calendars, budgets, and compliance requirements
- Cultivate relationships with program officers and funding partners
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and grant management systems
- Mentor junior staff on best practices in grant development
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured
- Proven success with federal/state grants (e.g., HUD, SAMHSA, MDE)
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Master's preferred)
- Expertise in nonprofit financial modeling and budget development
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with portfolio samples required
- Advanced proficiency in grant databases (e.g., Candid, Instrumentl)
- Experience working with Detroit's philanthropic landscape preferred
