As a key member of our Development team, you'll craft compelling grant proposals that resonate with federal, state, and private foundations. You'll collaborate with program directors to translate complex community needs into fundable narratives, manage a diverse portfolio of grant opportunities, and maintain compliance with funder reporting requirements. This hybrid role offers flexibility with 3 remote days per week.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from federal agencies, foundations, and corporate sponsors
- Develop high-quality grant proposals and LOIs tailored to specific funder priorities
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data and create compelling project narratives
- Manage grant budgets, reporting requirements, and compliance documentation
- Build and maintain relationships with foundation program officers
- Analyze grant outcomes and prepare impact reports for funders
- Maintain accurate records in CRM database (Salesforce experience preferred)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 3+ years of professional grant writing experience with demonstrated success securing $500K+ annually
- Portfolio of 5+ funded grant proposals from diverse funders
- Expertise in research, program development, and outcome measurement
- Proficiency with nonprofit accounting principles and budget development
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Fort Wayne nonprofit landscape preferred
