Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure) for large-scale IT initiatives.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Coordinate closely with executive stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to align project goals with state objectives.
- Ensure strict compliance with California Government Code, procurement regulations, and state security standards.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to drive team efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively to minimize disruption to state operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within the public sector or a large enterprise environment.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools (Jira, MS Project) and agile methodologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
