Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of major IT projects, from initiation to deployment, ensuring alignment with county strategic goals.
- Manage cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, provide status updates, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Implement and monitor project methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall) to ensure operational excellence.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project derailment.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, including scope statements, work breakdown structures (WBS), and status reports for executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably within the public sector or large-scale enterprise IT environments.
- Valid PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is required.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for diverse audiences.
- Experience with federal or state compliance standards (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA) is a plus.
