Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the department's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Develop and enforce security protocols to safeguard sensitive state data and protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced-level technical support to internal stakeholders, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects from conception to deployment, coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams to meet state compliance standards.
- System Migration: Spearhead the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud-based solutions, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar cybersecurity certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of state and federal government IT policies, security standards, and procurement regulations.
