Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and software applications used by county departments.
- Conduct system performance tuning, security audits, and troubleshooting to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor junior developers and analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Develop and document technical specifications, standard operating procedures, and system architecture diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal IT regulations, including data privacy and cybersecurity standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software development, systems analysis, or IT project management within a large-scale environment.
- Proven expertise in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#) and database management systems (SQL, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
