Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Lead the development and deployment of custom web applications and internal tools using modern programming languages.
- Conduct system audits and security assessments to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff and contractors.
- Collaborate with city departments to identify technical needs and deliver scalable solutions.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues in real-time.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, preferably within the public sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data privacy laws.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
