Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, configuration, and maintenance of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server environments to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and guidance for hardware, software, and network issues to internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect state data and ensure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment of new technologies and system upgrades, managing timelines and deliverables.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or a related technical field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a proactive approach to system maintenance.
