Responsibilities
- System Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operations of Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols in accordance with NIST, FISMA, and Agency-specific guidelines.
- Incident Response: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues and coordinate with cross-functional teams for incident resolution.
- Project Support: Assist in the planning and execution of IT modernization initiatives and system upgrades.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentorship: Guide junior staff members and provide technical expertise during team meetings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in federal IT systems administration or related technical roles.
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance or higher.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, routing, switching, and virtualization technologies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to brief senior leadership.
