Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and network infrastructure.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect sensitive state data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for hardware and software issues.
- Manage vendor relationships and conduct performance reviews for third-party service providers.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and processes.
- Train junior staff and conduct workshops on new technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT project management and system administration within the public sector.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or PMP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Valid California driver's license may be required for site visits.
