Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software applications and IT systems for state agencies.
- Conduct system architecture reviews, code audits, and performance testing to ensure security, scalability, and compliance with state standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsâincluding project managers, developers, and stakeholdersâto modernize legacy infrastructure and drive digital transformation.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on best practices, coding standards, and emerging technologies.
- Ensure all IT projects adhere to strict government regulations, security protocols, and budgetary constraints.
- Document technical requirements, system designs, and operational procedures to maintain knowledge continuity.
Qualifications
- A Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, systems analysis, or information technology.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume government environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
