Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects within the state budget and timeline constraints.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for state agency stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to state procurement regulations, IT policies, and federal compliance standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues early, developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track and within scope.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, resource planning, and vendor relationships to optimize project performance.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to executive leadership and steering committees.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years in a government or large-scale enterprise environment.
- Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
