Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with state strategic goals.
- Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership to drive project transparency.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state government regulations, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and NC state policies.
- Lead Agile and Waterfall methodologies, conducting sprint planning, retrospectives, and status reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes and deliverables.
- Mentor junior project managers and team leads to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the public sector or government contracting environment.
- Proven experience managing complex IT projects with budgets exceeding $1M.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement processes and contract management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable background investigation/security clearance.
