Responsibilities
- Oversee Information Security Compliance: Implement and monitor advanced information security protocols to protect sensitive federal data against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform comprehensive risk analysis and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security gaps and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage Security Clearances: Process and maintain personnel security clearances, ensuring all documentation meets Department of Defense (DoD) and agency requirements.
- Lead Incident Response: Coordinate rapid response efforts for security incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery of systems.
- Develop Security Policies: Draft, update, and enforce information security policies and procedures in accordance with federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
- Train Personnel: Conduct security awareness training and briefings for staff to foster a culture of cybersecurity vigilance across the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
- Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is required; willingness to obtain a clearance is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, specifically within a federal or defense contracting environment.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
