Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of local and wide-area network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents to safeguard sensitive government data.
- System Administration: Manage server environments, including Windows Server and Linux, ensuring patch management and system updates are executed efficiently.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and guidance to internal government staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to state and federal regulations, including FCCOM (Federal Information Security Modernization Act) standards.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in configuring firewalls, VPNs, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex technical issues under pressure.
