Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level server infrastructure (Windows/Linux, virtualization)
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability assessments and incident response
- Optimize cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) for state agency workloads
- Develop automation scripts for system monitoring and patch management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on digital transformation projects
- Ensure compliance with state IT security policies and NIST standards
- Provide technical guidance to junior administrators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (5+ years experience accepted)
- 5+ years administering enterprise Windows/Linux environments
- Certifications in CompTIA Security+, AWS/Azure, or CISSP preferred
- Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker)
- Knowledge of state IT security frameworks and compliance requirements
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- California state residency required at time of hire
