Role Overview:
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management, security, and performance of our IT systems. You will act as a technical lead, providing guidance to junior staff and ensuring compliance with government standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software systems.
- Monitor network performance and security to ensure high availability and data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new IT solutions and upgrades.
- Conduct regular system audits, data backups, and disaster recovery planning.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure service level agreements are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced government environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various city facilities.
