Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex server infrastructure across multiple data centers in the Chicago region.
- Oversee virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) to optimize resource allocation and performance.
- Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard sensitive federal and state data against cyber threats.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical system outages and ensure high availability of services.
- Conduct regular system audits and provide technical guidance to junior staff members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy applications and improve IT service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and network security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess the ability to obtain required government security clearances.
