Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures to support high availability and performance.
- Monitor network traffic and troubleshoot critical incidents to minimize downtime.
- Manage firewall configurations and implement robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive state data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade legacy systems and integrate new technologies.
- Conduct regular network audits and provide technical guidance to junior staff members.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal telecommunications regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP are strongly preferred.
- Proven experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar enterprise networking equipment.
- Strong knowledge of VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
