Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct daily operations of park maintenance and landscaping crews.
- Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance for athletic fields, playgrounds, and public buildings.
- Supervise staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide training on safety protocols and equipment usage.
- Inspect facilities and grounds to ensure compliance with city safety regulations and accessibility standards.
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and landscaping materials.
- Respond to community inquiries and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Assist in the planning and execution of community recreational events and festivals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Parks Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, or facility management.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and operating heavy machinery.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and horticultural practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
