Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end administration of pension benefit claims, ensuring accuracy and strict adherence to ERISA regulations and state statutes.
- Conduct thorough data analysis and audits of pension records to identify discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- Provide expert guidance and support to retirees, beneficiaries, and agency HR personnel regarding pension eligibility and benefit calculations.
- Collaborate with the legal team to ensure compliance with all federal and state government reporting requirements.
- Manage high-volume inquiries through email, phone, and the public portal, maintaining a high level of customer service satisfaction.
- Assist in the development and updating of pension policy documentation and training materials for agency staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or government financial services.
- Proficiency with actuarial software and government benefits management systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, FERPA, and Georgia state retirement laws.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of translating technical information for diverse audiences.
