Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the daily operations of the Louisville Metro Government pension plans, including benefit calculations and payments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to current and retired employees regarding retirement eligibility, vesting, and benefit inquiries.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) guidelines, and municipal codes.
  • Conduct regular audits of pension records and financial data to identify discrepancies and prevent fraud.
  • Collaborate with the finance and HR departments to ensure accurate reporting and actuarial valuations.
  • Prepare and present complex financial reports to the Board of Retirement and city management.
  • Stay current on legislative changes affecting public sector retirement planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial services, or public sector human resources.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and Kentucky retirement system policies.
