Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including eligibility calculations, benefit determinations, and retirement processing
- Manage participant communications and educational materials regarding retirement benefits
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Nevada state pension laws
- Collaborate with finance teams on actuarial valuations, funding strategies, and financial reporting
- Conduct audits and reconciliations of pension-related accounts and transactions
- Implement process improvements to enhance retirement plan administration efficiency
- Serve as primary contact for retirees and beneficiaries regarding pension inquiries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience with defined benefit plans
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and pension accounting standards
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Pension Actuary (ASA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience with public sector pension systems highly desirable
