Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize state pension fund portfolios, ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes 121.01-121.91
- Analyze actuarial reports and financial data to assess fund health and recommend strategic adjustments
- Coordinate with external auditors and investment advisors to maintain fiduciary standards
- Develop retirement benefit calculations and communications for public sector employees
- Oversee pension system technology upgrades and data security protocols
- Prepare comprehensive compliance reports for the Florida State Board of Administration
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives to enhance retirement plan accessibility and education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Professional certification (e.g., ASPPA, CFA, or CPA) strongly preferred
- Expertise in ERISA compliance and multi-employer pension plan regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Oracle HCM, Workday)
- Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and actuarial reports
- Strong knowledge of Florida public retirement systems and state budget processes
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts
