Responsibilities
- Oversee pension fund operations including benefit calculations, disbursements, and record maintenance
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA, IRS, and Texas state pension regulations
- Conduct comprehensive retirement plan audits and compliance reviews
- Develop and implement pension policy improvements aligned with legislative changes
- Manage complex member inquiries regarding retirement eligibility and distributions
- Collaborate with investment teams on fund performance analysis and reporting
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives for pension system modernization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in government sector
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a), and Texas pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Benefitfocus, ADP)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or CEBS designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills for complex benefit calculations
