Responsibilities
- Administer pension fund operations including benefit calculations, distributions, and record-keeping
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (ERISA, NYSLRS policies)
- Conduct member outreach and retirement counseling sessions
- Collaborate with investment teams on portfolio performance analysis
- Develop and maintain retirement plan documentation and procedures
- Lead cross-departmental projects for system modernization
- Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension administration or retirement plan experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and pension accounting standards
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) or CEBS designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, NorthStar)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- New York State residency required within 90 days of hire
- Valid driver's license for occasional travel to regional offices
