Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation policy recommendations aligned with state strategic goals
- Analyze legislative impacts and prepare detailed briefing documents for executive leadership
- Coordinate interdepartmental initiatives to improve transportation efficiency in Houston metro area
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and implement compliance protocols
- Lead stakeholder engagement with local government officials, community groups, and industry partners
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research to support policy decisions
- Present policy proposals to legislative committees and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Transportation, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in government policy development or transportation planning
- Deep knowledge of Texas transportation infrastructure and regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in policy analysis tools (e.g., GIS, statistical software)
- Proven experience with stakeholder management and public consultation processes
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce policy briefs and reports
- Valid Texas driver's license
