Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transit policy frameworks aligned with federal regulations and community needs
- Analyze complex transportation data to inform strategic decision-making and budget allocations
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local government entities to ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives with community leaders and transit advocacy groups
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and legislative recommendations for executive leadership
- Oversee compliance with FTA (Federal Transit Administration) reporting requirements
- Mentor junior policy staff and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government policy development or public sector management
- Expertise in federal transit regulations (FTA compliance, 49 CFR Part 611)
- Proven ability to analyze complex datasets using advanced Excel and GIS tools
- Strong stakeholder management experience with diverse community groups
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Professional certification in Public Administration (CPA) or equivalent preferred
- U.S. citizenship required for government clearance processing
