Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based policy frameworks aligned with Omaha's strategic vision
- Analyze complex urban challenges and propose data-driven solutions to city leadership
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement including community groups, businesses, and government agencies
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefings and reports for the Mayor and City Council
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend evidence-based adjustments
- Lead interdepartmental projects on priority initiatives like affordable housing and climate resilience
- Stay current on best practices in municipal governance and emerging policy trends
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in municipal government or public policy
- Expertise in policy analysis, research methodologies, and quantitative/qualitative data interpretation
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful local government policies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presentation experience
- Proficiency in policy development software and data visualization tools
- Strong understanding of Nebraska state regulations and municipal governance structures
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record
