Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze state policies related to economic development, sustainability, and workforce innovation
- Liaise with federal agencies, state legislators, and local government officials to align strategic initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing statewide programs with measurable impact
- Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to inform policy recommendations
- Represent the department in public forums, legislative hearings, and stakeholder engagements
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and reporting requirements
- Oversee program budgets and resource allocation for policy implementation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years in state/federal government policy development or legislative affairs
- Expertise in economic development, environmental policy, or workforce programs
- Proven ability to navigate complex government procurement and regulatory processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing multi-year state or federal grants and contracts
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
