Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft evidence-based recommendations
- Collaborate with agency heads to develop strategic initiatives
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced data tools
- Prepare legislative briefs and testimony for City Council hearings
- Manage cross-departmental projects with tight deadlines
- Monitor federal/state policy trends affecting NYC operations
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate stakeholder engagement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of government or non-profit policy experience
- Expertise in quantitative analysis (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Proven track record of drafting successful policy proposals
- Knowledge of NYC administrative and legislative processes
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments
- NYC residency required within 90 days of hire
