Responsibilities
- Lead cross-departmental policy research and impact assessments for municipal initiatives
- Develop data-driven recommendations for Boston's strategic priorities (equity, climate resilience, economic growth)
- Coordinate with state/federal agencies to align policy frameworks with municipal goals
- Present complex policy analyses to City Council, Mayor's Office, and community boards
- Design and implement public engagement strategies for inclusive policy development
- Manage $500K+ policy implementation budgets and interdepartmental resources
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee policy research methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in municipal/state government
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methods (SPSS, R, NVivo)
- Deep understanding of Massachusetts municipal governance structures
- Proven track record in developing equity-focused policy frameworks
- Advanced budget analysis and grant management capabilities
- Exceptional stakeholder facilitation and public presentation skills
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred
