Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex state policies to recommend evidence-based solutions
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks aligned with Illinois' strategic goals
- Collaborate with agency leaders and stakeholders to implement policy initiatives
- Prepare detailed reports and briefings for executive leadership and legislative bodies
- Monitor federal regulations and assess impacts on state operations
- Lead cross-functional teams on special projects and process improvements
- Represent the state in intergovernmental meetings and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative research methods and data analysis tools
- Deep knowledge of Illinois legislative processes and state government structure
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Illinois residency required upon hire
- Valid driver's license for occasional statewide travel
