Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex health policy proposals aligned with state regulations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using SPSS, R, or SAS to support policy decisions
- Collaborate with legislators, stakeholders, and community leaders on policy implementation
- Prepare comprehensive legislative testimony and policy briefs for state committees
- Monitor emerging health trends and federal regulations affecting Texas communities
- Lead cross-functional task forces addressing public health emergencies
- Present findings to executive leadership and state advisory boards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Health, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sectors
- Expertise in healthcare policy, Medicaid, or epidemiological data analysis
- Proficiency in statistical software and policy modeling tools
- Proven track record of influencing state-level legislation
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with policy writing samples
- Active Texas government security clearance (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience managing policy implementation in diverse urban environments
