Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for department heads
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research on social and economic issues
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and legislative testimony
- Coordinate with state agencies and community stakeholders
- Monitor implementation of new policies and evaluate outcomes
- Mentor junior policy analysts and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government/nonprofit
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, or Stata)
- Demonstrated experience with legislative processes
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Illinois residency required
- Valid driver's license
