Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate complex policy proposals for state legislation and regulatory compliance
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using statistical modeling and stakeholder interviews
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive leadership through concise reports
- Coordinate cross-agency implementation of new policies with local government partners
- Monitor policy effectiveness through KPI analysis and recommend evidence-based adjustments
- Manage $5M+ program budgets with rigorous fiscal accountability protocols
- Mentor junior analysts while maintaining compliance with CA Government Code standards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government/nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or Stata)
- Expert knowledge of California's legislative process and regulatory frameworks
- Proven track record of developing data-driven policy recommendations
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with executive presentation experience
- Valid California driver's license (for inter-agency travel)
