Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft evidence-based recommendations for state legislators
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical software
- Collaborate with agency directors to develop strategic implementation plans
- Present findings to legislative committees and stakeholder groups
- Monitor policy outcomes and prepare impact assessment reports
- Mentor junior analysts on research methodologies
- Manage interdepartmental task forces on cross-cutting initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Proficiency in SPSS, R, or SAS for data analysis
- Demonstrated experience with policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement
- Strong writing skills with published policy briefs or reports
- Valid New York State driver's license
- U.S. citizenship required for federal compliance
- Ability to obtain confidential security clearance
