Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for the Mayor's office
- Analyze complex datasets to identify emerging public health and education trends
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on housing affordability initiatives
- Present findings to the Council of the District of Columbia and federal partners
- Mentor junior analysts while establishing best practices for evidence-based policymaking
- Oversee implementation of DC's Climate Action Plan in collaboration with EPA
- Manage $2M+ grant portfolio for community-based innovation projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies and statistical tools
- Proven track record of translating policy research into actionable legislation
- Deep understanding of DC's unique governance structure and federal relations
- Superior written/verbal communication skills with executive-level presentation experience
- Valid DC government security clearance (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Proficiency in GIS software and policy modeling tools
