Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate comprehensive policy proposals for state agencies using quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities
- Prepare detailed policy briefs, reports, and presentations for executive leadership and legislative bodies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement policy initiatives and monitor outcomes
- Analyze legislative impacts and recommend strategic responses to emerging policy trends
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community organizations, industry partners, and government entities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Bachelor's with 5+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in government, non-profit, or regulated sector
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis and statistical modeling tools (R, Python, or SAS)
- Proven ability to translate complex policy concepts for diverse audiences
- Knowledge of North Carolina state government structure and legislative processes
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to travel statewide
